About Us

We are following the principles of Viswaguru Sree Narayana guru (the prominent saint who was born in 1856 and left in 1928)

Prominent among the founder members were Sri. KK Gopinath, Sri. AV Balakrishnan, Late G Raju, Sri. Joy Kottoor, Late KD Vijayan, Sri. K Chandrabose, Sri. Madhu Madhavan, Sri. Biju Anchal, Sri. MR Sugathan, Sri. Ajith Prasad, Sri. Saseedharan (EWA), Sri. Vasudevan, Sri. Manoj Kumar, Sri Sasi Pillai, and Sri. N Bharathan.

The first Executive Committee under the Chairmanship of Sri. G Raju (late) and General Secretary Sri. Madhu Madhavan was inaugurated by the then Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E.S.S Gill, in the year 1999.

Later during the year 2008, after evaluating the activities of Gurudeva Cultural Association (GCA), the Bahrain Ministry of Social Affairs granted the formal registration as a social society with a new name as Gurudeva Social Society (GSS). The name to be remembered is Sri. K.K. Raveendran (Former General Secretary), who initiated the entire process for getting the registration with MoSA; the executive committee at that time was under the chairmanship of Sri. Prabhath Kusumam.

GSS is currently having a strength of around 400-500 active families. The active members are about 350. The membership allotment is as per the guidelines of the GSS MoU and as per Bahrain Law. We are having members from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. There are active families of Keralites who are the residents of Saudi Arabia.

Mentor

We are following the principles of Viswaguru Sree Narayana Guru (the prominent saint who took birth in 1856 and left in 1928).

Objectives

Gurudeva Social Society (GSS) is affiliated with Sivagiri Matt located at Varkkala, Thiruvananthapuram- Kerala. The main objective is to eradicate the discriminations set by caste and up-lift the poor’s, irrespective of any caste, creed or gender, to the mainstream by adopting the Guru Dharma

Mission

Not to harm the universe, especially any of the livelihoods. Our main principle behind the prayer is the thought of Sree Narayana Guru as

Vision

Our vision is to follow the principles/ dharma of Sree Narayana Guru. The main dharma is “One Caste, One Religion and One God to the entire mankind.”

For the development of mankind, Sree Narayana Guru portrayed seven Pillars in 1928, which were not yet achieved fully even by various Governments since independence. These seven areas were relevant yesterday, are relevant today, and will be relevant tomorrow.

01

Education (വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം)

02

Cleanliness (ശുചിത്വം)

03

Faith in God (ഈശ്വരവിശ്വാസം)

04

Agriculture (കൃഷി)

05

Industry (വ്യവസായം)

06

Handicrafts (കൈത്തൊഴിൽ)

07

Science & Technology (ശാസ്ത്രവും സാങ്കേതിക പരിശീലനവും)

Even the order SreeNarayana guru described are relevant. The priority is for Education, the basis edifice of any modern society is education, then cleanliness, then belief in God, then agriculture and so on. That means, without basic education, no-one can achieve the pure cleanliness, without these two, if you are believe in God, it may end up superstition, black magics, myths and so on. One who have good faith in God is engaged in agriculture, he will not use anything such as poison, harmful pesticides which are very common now. These four pillars are the pioneers of any modern society, then Industrialization – which will bring more employment opportunities, then handicrafts with the help of equipment’s (bi-products of industrialization) which will help to generate income among common peoples and finally moderns science and IT industries, without this no country can go ahead, during 1928 where no one think about IT, Sree Narayana guru emphasized the importance of IT.
GSS actively participates the yearly seminars at Sivagiri on dec 15- 31st of every year with maximum participants from Bahrain and thereby propagating the various lessons learned at Sivagiri Seminars as per the advice and guidance of Sivagiri Matt.
